Mission Falcons

Dakota (Canadian Anatum)

Dakota is out a "The Crypt" Peregrine lines and she was hacked as a youngster and was lost at hack for almost 8 months!  She was recovered by a falconer 200 miles south when she came in on his Prairie Falcon trap and I was able to get her back.  She's the "goose that lays the golden eggs". She was hatched in 2002 and I got her back in January 2003.  She has been a massively successful game hawk for many years. She kills ducks at will.  She is highly successful on Pheasants, Partridge, Sage Grouse and after years of trying, she finally got good at Sharptail Grouse, taking them from very high pitches.  Her mate is a tiercel from the same breeding that came out a few years later, named Pancho and together, they make some of the most beautiful Peregrines.  They have been noted for their natural desire and ability to go up and wait on. They all tend to have huge feet and are superb footers, like Peregrines tend to be.

Dakota also won the prestigious Utah Sky Trials in 2009, putting on perfect flights two days in a row and was the first purebred falcon and Peregrine to win that event in many, many years.  A full sister to her has won it since and continues to place well in other Sky Trials events as well.
